Herbert Platt the Georgia Shaker, was known for his great looking and strong performing cars, his on-track showmanship and his off-track flare. He was called "A Controversal Racing Showman" in a local newspaper as early as 1962. Herbert raced many Georgia Shaker cars but none came close to the Thunderbolt! Fords total performance program was well underway when the order was sent to build a batch of lightweight Ford Fairlanes. Stripped to their essence, painted Wimbledon White and filled with a 427 Cubic Inches of Galaxie V-8 the cars were doubed Thunder Bolt, and they struck factory experimential drag racing like lightening.
Open the doors to see the folding/sliding seats, then open the ash tray, glove box, or check out the keys in the ignition. Pull out the real hood pins to open the tear drop hood and see the deatiled 427 engine. Open the trunk to see the very realistic backside of the rear seat, the battery, and battery cables (accurate in this car). Spin the rear wheels, to make the driveshaft rotate. 250 of the 1250 will come with a signed COA by Herbert Platt.
